The SAMLSubjectID and SAMLPairwiseID attributes are being introduces into the AAF to support the REFEDS Pseudonymous Access and REFEDS Personalized Access entity categories. Supporting these entity categories will enable the AAF to provide more eduGAIN services to the federation. 

RapidIdP customers will automatically provide these new attributes as part of the on-going upgrade to Shibboleth V5. For organisations running an on-prem IdP, the AAF IdP installer has been upgraded to support these new attributes.

For the AAF compliance 2025 activity these is no requirement at this time to provide these attributes even though they are listed in the AAF Federation Rules, Appendix 1 Core Attributes.
